MSIA Pronounced Messiah....

Wow...what you find out on the internet!!! As I was researching David Allen, I came upon a reference about his ties to a religious group called Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness.  From the official website:

Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, MSIA is a non-denominational, ecumenical church that serves thousands of students on six continents. Most people find that study in MSIA is compatible with other religious faiths and beliefs. Those who participate with MSIA come from all walks of life, age groups, and backgrounds.

and

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO ACHIEVE SPIRITUAL AWARENESS. MSIA respects any practice or belief that encourages people on their path home to God. We do not claim to have the only way. We do have a time-proven approach that allows people to experience their true nature while enjoying greater health, wealth, happiness, abundance, and joy.

The podcast I watched is called The Christ Within. (scroll down through the archives) It was filmed on November 28th, 2006.  There is a snippet of an interaction between the founder of the group (John-Roger) and Mother Teresa where she explains the five gospels using his hands...based on helping people and the five wounds of Jesus. It was done in a sort of a sophisticated "here's the church, here's the steeple" style.

The talk might be considered a bit new age....but nothing I am threatened by.

There is a place inside of us that cannot be sullied or negated or eliminated....that triumphs or overcomes the negativity that is in the world.

......the turning point when we realize that we are something more...that we are redeemed..that we are an instrument of divine action.

They give you a series of questions to ask yourself....

    • Identify a current situation that is challenging or upsetting.  What are your judgements or expectations?
    • What are your judgements or expectations?
    • Now refocus on the Christ within and reconnect with your spiritual essence.
    • Describe the situation again through the eyes of the Christ and how you might handle it or respond to it.
    • Describe your experience of the Christ within right now.
    • How does looking at the situation through the eyes of the Christ assist you to move into greater acceptance of yourself and others.

Interesting questions...an interesting site...
